Thanks to satellites, it is possible to locate and quantify some greenhouse gas emissions such as methane and nitrogen. CO2 will soon join this list with the launch of the Microcarb satellite. Solutions are proposed within the collective and provide an analysis of greenhouse gas emissions.
The solutions
WaltR®
It is well known that the main cause of climate change is the greenhouse effect that is largely due to greenhouse gas emissions:
- Carbon dioxide (CO2), from fossil fuels and deforestation;
- methane (CH4), mainly from agriculture ;
- nitrous oxide (N2O), produced from spreading of synthetic nitrogen fertilizers ;
- Ozone (O3) :from chemical reactions from volatile chemical compounds (hydrocarbons, solvents…), released by industrial activities and diverse pollutants released into the air (such as nitrogen oxides) mainly released from road traffic
Waltr has developed a service that measures CO2, CH4 and O3 concentrations in the air with 100-meter accuracy. This tool also makes it possible to determine the original source of these emissions.
